Housekeeper


 

Main Purpose of the Job:

 

To be responsible for the cleaning of the hotel bedrooms and public areas to the highest standard

 

Job Description:

 

To be responsible for and work closely with a small team of Cleaners/ Chambermaids to ensure that Greenwoods is maintained to a high standard at all times

To be responsible for the ordering and supply of cleaning products from designated suppliers.

To make sure all public areas and toilets on a daily basis including the lounges, halls, stairways, library and conference rooms.

To clean the hotel rooms, ensuring that this cleaning takes place at an apporpraite time and in an appropriate manner.

To make sure that each room is cleaned to the standard you have been shown. To make sure that ALL areas are: hovered, dusted, that the toiletries and milk/ coffee / sugar are all full. That rubbish has been thrown away. Sheets are cleaned and bathroom cleaned. To make sure vents are regularly cleaned. Bathrooms are thoroughly mopped and swept and towels replaced and inspected.

To monitor on a daily basis the room requirements e.g. rooms made up as twins or doubles etc

Occasionally to offer assistance in laundry areas or other ad hoc duties if required

 

 

 

Skills and Experience Required:

To have previous experience of working at supervisory/management level in a similar industry.

Strong organisational skills.

To have a common sense approach.

Flexibility to cover any annual leave.

Chef de Partie


To be responsible for monthly stock takes and the orderly submission of paperwork to the Head Chef and to control wastage and stock rotation.

To help achieve and better a 68% profit margin.

To attend all departmental meetings.

To provide on an ad-hoc basis menu items when requested.

To monitor all purchases, costs and quality of supplies when required.

To adhere to all health and hygiene policies and procedures.

To maintain a clean, hygienic and safe working environment.

To ensure information is cascaded through to the Assistant and Kitchen Porter in the kitchen.

To change and submit new menu ideas.

To closely follow the health and safety policies of the hotel.

To ensure the equipment is being treated and cleaned in the correct manner.

To liaise closely with the Food Services Manager and all Restaurant staff.

To maintain a good working relationship with all staff.

To adopt a hands-on role with regard to service.

To clearly mark and document any wastage over £5 in value on wastage sheets.

To monitor all first aid equipment in your area.

To be aware of all up and coming business.

To enforce punctuality for the Kitchen Porter and Junior Chef.

To monitor and control staff feeding areas.

To report and control all theft of food stuffs and report on individuals who disregard this policy.

To ensure the Night Porter’s sandwich fridge is prepped and ready at night in the absence of the Comi Chef.

To ensure the kitchen is staffed for cleaning down until 11pm at night.

To be responsible for all aspects of food service and food on your section.

To assist in the training of the Comi Chef, the Kitchen Porter and the Kitchen Assistant.

 

Skills and Experience Required:

NVQ Level 1, 2 and above in kitchen preparation.

Knowledge of current food trends.

Basic food hygiene.

A minimum of 4 years working in a similar kitchen environment.

A strong team worker.

Ability to work in a stressful and pressurised environment.

Kitchen Porter


To maintain the highest level of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen.

To maintain the cleanliness of all machinery correctly.

To assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day to day duties of the kitchen.

To liaise with the Head Chef on a daily basis concerning cleaning and cleaning lists.

To be aware of all COSHH procedures and adhere to all legislation on cleaning. To ensure the correct end of shift procedure is adhered to and a tidy and organised section is left at all times.

To ensure that all related equipment and supplies are treated within the operations guidelines.

To follow all and any orders given by the Head Chef.

To stack all crockery neatly and safely.

To be responsible for the washing of all equipment and related items.

To inform the Chef on a weekly basis on all chemical stock levels and re-order where necessary.

To mop up laying water/grease immediately

To quickly rotate all equipment as per the Chef’s instructions.

To wear appropriate PPE where required.

To attend all training sessions.

To maintain a tidy chemical cupboard.

To inform promptly all and any maintenance issues to the Head Chef.

Skills and Experience Required:

A knowledge of COSHH.

A sound understanding of basic hygiene.

A team worker.

A flexible approach.

Receptionist


Full Time Receptionist

 

Main Purpose of the Job:

 

To assist in the maximisation of sales and profitability of the bedrooms.  To welcome, assist and bid farewell to guests in a warm and friendly manner and to promote the hotel facilities and the company.

 

 

Job Description:

To ensure that you arrive punctually, your personal appearance is well groomed and to ensure that the correct uniform is clean and worn at all times.

To ensure the switchboard is attended to promptly and efficiently ensuring that all calls are monitored and recorded correctly and messages passed on as quickly as possible to guests or management.

To ensure all bills are compiled correctly and have the relevant back up and are acceptable to be presented to the customer.

To ensure customers are greeted professionally either on the telephone or in person in a professional, friendly manner.

To compile and prepare documentation for subsequent days arriving guests in order to facilitate an efficient reception.

To record and maintain accurate guest history details on the relevant documentation.

To be fully aware of the hotel and company’s facilities and be able to promote these.

To ensure safe storage, confidentiality and security of all documentation relating to the hotel, the company and the guests.

To ensure the registration of guests is in line with the agreed procedures.

To ensure floats are checked and banking/monies balanced per shift and signed for.

To ensure that an accurate hand over is given at the end of each shift and that all hand overs and memo’s are read and initialised.

To adhere to all health and safety and health and hygiene policies.

To be aware of the hotel fire procedure in accordance with the fire plan.

To attend training and any departmental meetings as and when required.

To report any defects in the building or equipment to the Duty Manager and ensure they are recorded in line with the company’s standards and current procedures.

To ensure all brochure and information racks are maintained with literature.

To ensure that your area of work is always clean and tidy.

 

Skills and Experience Required:

Experience of working in reception in a variety of hotel environments.

Very good customer service skills.

Knowledge of micros would be advantageous although not essential.

A polite manner, confident and good common sense approach.

Numeracy skills.

Beauty/Spa Therapist


Main Purpose of the Job:

To provide a range of beauty treatments and therapies for our clients, from massage to facials and nail treatments.

Job Description:

Working in a busy spa environment applicants must have the relevant qualifications and some proven experience in a similar role.

We are looking for professional team members that can provide excellent customer service and a great quality of treatments at all times.

To be qualified in carrying out a range of beauty treatments

To ensure that treatments are carried out to the best of abilities at all times.

To maintain accurate timings and carry out treatments as trained.

To be responsible for ensuring that medical information is checked

To have an understanding of all treatments and products and be able to advise clients and upsell treatments and products at all times.

To provide appropriate aftercare advise to clients.

To ensure that a pleasant and personable attitude is maintained at all times and that clients are greeted and dealt with professionally.

To keep all spa areas tidy and ensure the high hygiene standards of the company are maintained and delivered at all times.

Skills and Experience Required:

NVQ Level 2 and 3 in beauty therapy if appropriate.

Food & Beverage


Main Purpose of the Job:

To provide excellent service to clients dining in our a la carte restaurant, lounge or function rooms

Job Description:

Food & Beverage staff are expected to assist with the day to day running of our busy a la carte restaurant as well as assisting with functions and weddings.

Role will include: serving guests, setting up, using till systems and ensure that a clean and tidy work environment is kept at all times.

Applicants are expected to be professional, smart with a positive and flexible working approach. Our food and beverage staff are all customer facing and will be dealing with members of the public constantly. Applicants must have a friendly and professional demeanor, who can work well under pressure.

Skills and Experience Required:

Good customer service skills.

A confident and professional manner.

Full Time Bar & Waiting Staff

Multiple full time positions available

Shifts will vary from week to week and will include weekends and evenings.

Some relevant experience is preferred but full training will be given.

Housekeeping


Main Purpose of the Job:

To be responsible for the cleaning of the hotel bedrooms and public areas to the highest standard

Job Description:

This is a busy role, making sure that our hotel bedrooms and public areas are cleaned to the very best standard at all times.

We have recently refurbished our bedrooms to a very high standard and we are proud to achieve top 4* AA ratings all round.

The role includes; cleaning every aspect of bedroom, changing beds, hoovering and working to a set time frame.

We are looking for candidates that can work efficiently, to high standards and under pressure.

Skills and Experience Required:

Strong organisational skills.

To have a common sense approach.

Be able to work well under pressure

Full Time Housekeeping Position

Multiple full time positions available

Shifts vary, but consist mostly of mornings and approx. 20 hours per week. Shifts are decided on a rota basis and will include most weekends and bank holidays.

We offer full training in house.

Chefs


Job Description:

We require full time chefs to assist in our very busy, 4* Rosette fine dining restaurant and banqueting and wedding venue.
The role will include assisting with senior chefs in larder, pastry and sauce sections. Ensuring that items are prepped each morning and evening for service.
Assisting with buffets and sit down meals for up to 200 people.

Working in our 4 * and Rosette awarded restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and bar food all day, 7 days a week.

Skills and Experience Required:

Applicants must follow strict health and hygiene processes and will be responsible for ensuring the standards of cleanliness remain to a high standard.
Some relevant experience is preferred and candidates must have the appropriate level NVQ.
Shifts will vary from week to week but will include weekends and bank holidays. Approx 50 hours per week.

Night Porter


Main Purpose of the Job:

To be responsible for the safety and security of the hotel during the hours of 11pm-07.00. To make sure that guests are attended to and looked after appropriately.

Job Description:

Responsible for handing over information and messages main reception team.

Conducting regular security checks of the hotel and grounds throughout the evening and to record and log any details or issues that occur.

Running the computerised night audit and any other administrative duties as required.

Checking in and out of guests and offering assistance with luggage.

Ensuring that the telephone is answered and any queries are dealt with effectively and messages are logged for following morning if required.

Making sure that guests are served behind the bar.

Making sure that 24hour room service is maintained at all times.

Setting up/ putting back any function rooms that the duty manager has asked you to complete.

Making sure that newspapers are ordered and wake up calls made.

Providing a friendly and professional approach to all guests that arrive at the hotel.

Skills and Experience Required:

Computer literate

Numeracy skills.

A pleasant and confident manner.

 

Full Time Position

11pm – 7am 5 out of 7 days – will include weekends

Full training given
