All Overnight Packages and Spa Days must be pre-booked and paid for at time of booking. We highly recommended booking treatments in advance.

NOTE: Greenwoods Spa (including swimming pool) is available and offers treatments for Guests over 16 only.

How do I book my Overnight Package / Spa Day / Treatments?

To book please contact our Reservations Team on 01277 829990.

If you have a voucher please have this to hand when booking. If you do not have a voucher please have a debit/credit card when calling as payment is required upon booking.
Please have a couple of suitable dates in mind as all bookings are subject to availability.

We recommend booking 4-8 weeks in advance for weekend dates.

Our various treatments are enjoying increasing popularity. You are therefore requested to make your reservation as early as possible, so as to avoid disappointment and ensure optimal treatment.

Our Reservations Office is open every day:

9am – 6pm Monday – Friday

9am – 5pm – Saturday and Sunday

I have a gift voucher – how can I use this ?

Simply call our Reservations Team on 01277 829 990 and we will assist you in making a booking. Please note that we are unable to accept lost, damaged or expired vouchers under any circumstances.

What is the cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is clearly detailed at the point of reservation and within our booking confirmation letters. Any packages booked directly with Greenwoods Hotel and Spa are fully refundable up to 7 days prior to your arrival day. If you give us less than 7 days notice we cannot refund your overnight or day spa package. We can however *re-schedule* or *postpone* your package (*subject to availability of your package).

If you have booked using a third party company this may differ, please refer to information supplied with your voucher/third party booking confirmation.

What time should I arrive?

We recommend to arrive on time as treatment times cannot be guaranteed and it is not always possible to re-book treatments if one is missed due to late arrival.

Most Day Spa packages run from 9am – 7pm with the exception of ” Twilight Afternoon Tea and Spa for Two” (3pm – 10pm).

Overnight Packages run from 2pm on day of arrival (check-in time for bedrooms and spa) until 11am on day of departure (check-out time for bedrooms and spa)

Please be aware that Spa Relaxation Room closes at 7pm.

What happens when I arrive?

When you arrive you will be greeted by one of our Hotel Receptionists. You will be asked to fill in your registration card and the details of your overnight stay or day package will be explained.

A Spa Receptionist will ask you to complete your consultation form and provide you with robe, slippers and towel for the day.

What happens if I arrive late?

If you arrive late for your treatments, whilst we will make every attempt to re-schedule your day, we cannot guarantee this.

Arriving late will also mean that your treatment time might be shortened or you will lose your treatment. Your delayed treatment will end on time so the next guest will not be delayed. The full value of your treatment will be charged. We will not search for you to take you to your treatment. You must check in for your treatments at Spa Reception.

Can I check-in early or stay longer?

Greenwoods Hotel and Spa does not offer early check-in or late check-out facility.

What if I have to cancel or change the date of my reservation?

If you give us less than 7 days notice we cannot refund your overnight or day spa package. We can however *re-schedule* or *postpone* your package (*subject to availability of your package).

What should I wear?

Come as casual or a smart as you like. Feel comfortable. You will be able to enjoy wearing robes in our Spa area throughout your day. We will ask you however to be dressed in all public areas of the Hotel including the Restaurant and Lounge.

During treatments therapists respect client’s modesty at all times. For facials we recommend you remove your make-up and upper body clothing. For massages please leave underwear on. You will be covered by a towel throughout the treatment.

What should I bring?

Please bring your booking confirmation, any *vouchers* used as payment for your Overnight Stay or Spa Day, swimming costume(s), gym wear, money/credit card to pay for drinks, extra food and food supplements and extra treatments you have booked.
*Without an original voucher you will be asked for another form of payment. Your voucher gains you admission to Greenwoods Hotel and Spa.

What about my jewellery & valuables?

Lockers are available for you in the spa changing rooms, however we strongly recommend you do not bring any valuable items such as jewellery or others as we cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss incurred.

Does my package include robes / towels / slippers for the day?

Robes and towels are provided for use during the day and must be returned to Spa Reception.

If you fail to return your robes you will be charged £25 per robe.

Before you leave your hire robes please check pockets for your property as we will be unable to search for any missing items after the day. Slippers are for you to keep. You can purchase a robe at £25 per robe. Additional towels will be charged. Please ensure you keep your towel with you as unattended towels may be removed.

Can I wear my robe throughout the day?

You can enjoy wearing your robes in the spa area throughout your day. We will ask you however to be dressed in all public areas of the Hotel including the Restaurant and Lounge.

Where can I eat and drink during my Spa Day?

Whilst it is not permitted to have food and drinks around the pool, you will be able to enjoy our Juice Bar where you can have your *lunch*, nibbles and drinks in your robes.

*Please note that Juice Bar menu is different to our Restaurant menu.

Do I have to carry my bag, etc. around with me?

No, you will able to use lockers to store your belongings. Lockers are pound operated.

Can anyone, not on an Overnight Package or Day Spa, join me for Lunch / Afternoon Tea / Dinner?

Yes, most definitely. Just call our Reservations Team on 01277 829 990 to book your additional guests in.

Can I change/upgrade my treatments to something else?

Any inclusive treatments can be upgraded or additional treatments added to enhance your chosen package. Please be aware that upgraded/additional treatments must be pre-booked and pre-paid.

Can I book additional treatments on the day?

Whilst most of the times you should be able to book *additional treatments on the day* we do advise to pre-book your treatments in advance so you are not disappointed on the day.

*Popular days/hours (peak hours are often late afternoons and weekends, especially Saturdays, half terms etc.) sell out very quickly therefore we cannot guarantee availability on the day or if you leave it too late to pre-book.

It is easiest for us to accommodate you during off-peak hours, which are typically in the mornings and mid-week.

Can I choose a therapist?

If you have a preferred therapist please feel free to request that person.

Can I ask the therapist to adapt the treatment?

All aspects of a treatment can usually be modified to your taste: amount of light, kind of music (if any), room temperature and whether or not you choose to have a conversation or enjoy the treatment in silence. If you want the therapist to massage harder or be gentler, let them know. Also, feel free to ask questions. Your therapist will appreciate knowing your thoughts and clarifying any issues you may have.

Do I at any point have to remove all of my clothes in front of anyone?

It’s never required that you are unclothed in front of anyone. Our therapists will leave the treatment room while you get under the sheet on the massage bed. Therapists will keep you covered at all times except for the area of the body they are massaging. They will also leave the treatment room before you get up from the treatment bed.

Should I eat before a treatment?

Try not to eat a heavy meal for at least an hour before a treatment and avoid the consumption of alcohol on the day of a treatment. Drink plenty of water before and after.

Do I need to have a patch test prior to any treatments?

You will need to have a patch test 24 hours prior to eyelash or eyebrow tinting.

Can couples have treatments in the same room?

Unfortunately due to the size of our treatment rooms we cannot offer treatments for two people in one room. We can however request your treatment at the same time as your partner.

What is the minimum age for Spa use and treatments ?

Greenwoods Spa is available and offers treatments for guests over 16 only.

Can I use Spa facilities if I book a treatment?

No, treatment prices do not include access to our spa facilities. You would need to book a spa day or an overnight package to enjoy Greenwoods Spa Facilities.

I would like to book a spa treatment for someone else but I am not sure which one to choose ?

We offer a range of *Gift Vouchers* which make an ideal gift for family, friends, colleagues and loved ones. Vouchers can be purchased for any amount from £10 upwards and can be used to purchase any of our treatments and retail products. You can purchase our gift vouchers over the phone and we will post them out to you by Special Delivery post.

*Please note that Greenwoods Vouchers are valid any day of the week for 6 months.

Will I need to tell you about any medical conditions?

You will be asked to complete our medical questionnaire prior to your treatment as certain treatments may not be advisable for you. It is also recommended to inform our Reservations Team at booking stage of any medical conditions.

It is your responsibility to discuss any relevant conditions with the Spa Team before booking treatments with us in order to avoid possible disappointment during your visit.

What is there to do?

There are beautiful grounds for a wander, a terrace and garden for relaxing and a number of indoor areas for reading and chilling out. You will be able to enjoy our fully equipped fitness suite, heated indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi hot tub, steam room and relax room. You can also join our *daily classes* – Aqua Aerobics, Legs Bums & Tums, Pilates, Yoga, Circuits & Cardio Workout.

Can I use the gym?

Yes, you are welcome to use the fitness suite throughout your Overnight Package or Spa Day.

Can I use my mobile phone?

Yes, but as all our guests are here to relax we kindly ask our guests to consider and not to disturb others.

Medical conditions & allergies

Should you or your guest/party have any medical conditions, which may prevent you from having treatments, we advise you to speak to your GP and bring a Doctor’s note with you.

Pregnancy
If you are pregnant we will not perform a Full Body Massage or Exfoliation at any stage of your pregnancy. If your spa day includes a Full Body Massage we will do our best to give you a suitable alternative.

Whilst pregnant you cannot use the sauna, Jacuzzi and similar heated leisure facilities because of the risks of overheating, dehydration and fainting. When you use a sauna, spa pool, hot tub or steam room, your body cannot lose heat effectively by sweating. Your body’s core temperature therefore rises. It is possible that a significant rise in your core temperature may affect your unborn baby’s development.

Cancer
If you are currently undergoing any form of treatment for cancer then a doctor’s note must be produced prior to treatment. If the doctor is happy for you to receive treatment then his/her note should be attached to the therapist consultation form and then the relevant treatment can be carried out.

Diabetes
If you have diabetes you only require a doctor’s note for treatments if the condition is not under control by either diet or insulin.

Epilepsy
If you have Epilepsy and have had a seizure within the last 18 months we would require a doctor’s note to proceed with treatments, if your last seizure was over 18 months ago there are no contraindications to the type of treatments you can receive but we would not use essential oils in treatments.

High Blood Pressure
If you suffer from high blood pressure we cannot perform abdominal massage, if your high blood pressure is controlled by medication we can proceed without a doctor’s note, if not we require a doctor’s note to perform the treatment.

Asthma
If you have asthma you can enjoy all of our treatments without a doctor’s note. If required please ensure you carry your inhaler on your spa day.

Multiple Sclerosis
If you have MS we cannot massage during the acute or flare-up stage but can proceed with massage between flares or stages with a doctor’s note.

Greenwoods Hotel and Spa etiquette 
When using the pool and fitness suite appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn.
In the pool area placing towels and robes on sun loungers to reserve them is not permitted.
In the pool area please shower before using and between facilities.

Please remember to return bath robes and towels to Spa Reception before leaving. If you fail to return your robes you will be charged £25 per robe.

All our guests are here to relax so we kindly ask our guests to respect and not to disturb others. We kindly request that voice levels are kept to a minimum to preserve the sense of tranquillity.

At all times please be respectful to Greenwoods Hotel and Spa staff and ask for help if needed. Disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.

Due to legislation introduced in 2007, Greenwoods Hotel and Spa operates a no smoking policy in all areas of the hotel, spa and grounds with the exception of a smoking area. Please ask for the location of this at Main Reception.
